hief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today dedicated and laid foundation stones of various developmental projects in Jogindernagar Assembly constituency of district Mandi through video-conferencing from his office.
The Chief Minister inaugurated Centre for Excellence in Dravya Guna and Medicinal Plants at Research Institute of Indian System of Medicines (RIISM), Jogindernagar on which a sum of rupees five crore have been incurred besides dedicating Girls Hostel of Ayurvedic Pharmacy at Shanan on which Rs. 1.87 crore were spent.
The Centre of Excellence will facilitate nursery development and cultivation practices of medicinal species and their morphological studies, besides facilitating MD/M.Sc. and Ph.D. related research. The centre will provide training to BAMS and B. Pharma students in the region and strengthen the functional drug testing laboratories. A national herbarium and museum on trans-himalayan plants will be supported under project.
He also inaugurated administrative block (Mini Secretariat) building at Jogindernagar completed with an outlay of Rs. 16.10 crore. He inaugurated bridge over Rana Khad at Tikroo on Tikroo-Ropri road on which Rs. 98 lakh has been incurred, 33 KV electric Sub Station at Bhararu set up at a cost of Rs. 3.30 crore and will benefit 18000 people of 56 villages of 13 panchayats of the area.
He inaugurated augmentation of source for Water Supply Scheme (WSS) Rana Ropa at Bhararu on which Rs. 1.35 crore has been spent. It will cater to the needs of about 5000 persons of 17 habitations of three panchayats.
The Chief Minister laid foundation stones of Science Lab building at GSSS (Girls) Jogindernagar to cost Rs.94.63 lakh and building of GSSS at Bassi to cost Rs 3.72 crore.
He dedicated school building of Mount Maurya School at Jhalwahan besides laying foundation stone of 2nd phase of Mount Maurya School building, at Jhalwahan.
ACS Education Dr. AJV Prasad, Director Higher education Shri B.L. Binta, OSD Ayurveda Shri Dinesh Sharma were also present on the occasion among others.
