Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh attended the ‘Valmiki Prakat Utsav’ on the occasion of ‘Valmiki Jayanti’ here today. He also inaugurated the newly constructed building of GHS, Krishnanagar completed with an outlay of Rs 2.20 crore. He directed the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation to fill-up the vacancies of functional posts in MC Shimla and also for speeding the work of re-matteling of road leading to Krishnanagar.
The Chief Minister while extending his felicitation on the occasion said that Maharishi Valmiki authored the holy book ‘Ramayana’ and inspire people to follow the path of truth and righteousness. “The teachings of Maharishi Valmiki were relevant in present day context and we should follow the path shown by him and abide by his teachings”, he added.
Later after reaching Mandi, the Chief Minister inaugurated the building of Government Senior Secondary School, Thunag completed with an outlay of Rs 83 lakh, from Circuit house itself and also inaugurated the upgraded 50 bedded Civil Hospital at Janjheli in presence of Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur, Rural Development Minister, Anil Sharma, Excise and Taxation Minister, Prakash Chaudhary, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sohan Lal, Chairmen MILKFED Chet Ram Thakur and other senior Officers of the district including representatives of various Panchayati Raj Institutions.
While talking to the media at circuit house Mandi, the Chief Minister said that the Rally of National Vice-President, Congress, Rahul Gandhi would be a historic one and is named as ‘Vikas se Vijay ki Aur. He said that the people would witness the crowd themselves and we won’t propagate exaggerated figure as many other political parties do. The rally will attract more crowd than the Modi rally held in Bilaspur, he said.
