Farmers survival associates with protection of Gau Mata : Governor….

Farmers survival was associated with the protection of Gau Mata and keeping in view the importance of cow, people need to come forward for the protection of Indian indigenous Cow.

Governor Acharya Devvrat revealed this while presiding over a function organised by Kyonthal Social-Cultural Utthan Sanstha in Jathiadevi, near Shimla, today.

Governor said that in Indian culture, the cow had  a high place and  had been given the status of mother. He expressed concern that in this age of materialism, the cow was facing an irony of abandon. He said that the scientists have done many researches on cow and found its milk, cow dung and cow urine wonderful. He said that cow had been described in all our epics and was related to human being. He said that cow had miserably been left on the streets due to our weaknesses.

He said that indigenous cow milk was disease resistant. Nearly 300 to 500 million bacteria were found in one gram cow dung, which increase the fertility of the soil. The Gau Mata was beneficial in many ways and 30 acres of land could be cultivated from an indigenous cow. He said Gaumutra was so valuable that in Ayurveda, the treatment of poisonous medicines was also done from this.

The Governor announced Rs.51,000 for Gaushala of Kyonthal Social-Cultural Utthan Sanstha.

Earlier, the Governor on the occasion of Samrasta Day organised to mark Mal Purnima, Shard Purnima and Valmiki Jayanti urged for working on improvement of cow breed. He said Agriculture University Palampur had prepared a model of cultivation based on indigenous cow.

He said that casteism was the result of our mentality and this social evil must be uprooted for a better and prosperous society. He appealed the people to avoid superstition and to remove hypocrisy from the society.

Governor also announced Rs. one lakh to Kamnapurni Gaushala Samiti Totu for protection of Gauvansh.

The children of DAV school Totu and SD school Shimla presented cultural programme on this occasion.
