Bezos accuses National Enquirer of extortion and blackmail over his alleged affair with Lauren Sanchez, whereby the paper threatens to publish intimately private and revealing materials including photos, unless.., well unless Bezos says that he has no knowledge that National enquirer’s coverage was politically motivated. Washington Post is critical of Trump whereas enquirer is pro Trump. Now Bezos is divorcing his wife Mackenzie. Enquirer says that its reporters were following Bezos and his mistress for four months, collecting information and snapping photos.
Bezos engages investigators to find out how enquirer got the stuff. But contrary to Enquirer’s expectations Bezos is not intimidated. He has posted a blog in which he says that he is going to publish the emails national enquirer has sent.
So it is a battle of a different kind. Bezos being Bezos, it seems unlikely that he is going to relent.
