With their brightly coloured parachutes, the skydivers soar over one of the world’s most famous landmarks.The festival’s been running since 2016 and aims to promote tourism and spread the sport in Egypt.
“For me this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to jump over one of the most iconic places in the world. I’ve been jumping for 27 years and have almost 25,000 skydives and for me this is one of the most memorable places I’ve ever been to,” says Ian Hodgkinson a skydiver from the UK.
Megan Andexlinger is a skydiver from the United States and says, “The scenery is beautiful, the people are nice, couldn’t ask for a clearer, better sky.”
The championship is organised by Egyptian Parachuting and Air Sports Federation (EPAF).
Mostafa Saeed is the event’s co-founder and says they’ve seen a 120 per cent increase in participants from last year.
