Gender Gap Report: India at 108th rank, much needs to be done globally….

The study also suggests that much to be done to bridge the global gender gap in terms of economic and societal terms.
Though many countries have achieved milestones towards gender equality in terms of education, health, economic and politics, yet many more things are left that needs immediate attention, the report said.

India stands at 108th position, when it comes to gender gap.

Similarly, in terms of economic participation and opportunity, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment India secures 142nd, 114th, 147th and 19th positions respectively.

The report further said, the parity witness a marginal improvement last year and pegged at 68 percent in 2018 which means there is still 32 percent gender gap prevails globally.On political empowerment, the gender gap is the highest at 77.1 percent worldwide. Economic participation and opportunity gap is the second-largest at 41.9 percent, while educational attainment and health and survival gaps are significantly lower at 4.4 percent and 4.6 percent respectively.

The report was prepared by assessing 149 countries suggest that there are only 17 nations who have women as their state heads.
