Mesmerising Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti’, an event organised by district administration Kullu and department of Art, Language and Culture to promote culture, customs, cuisine and traditions of these districts concluded here today.
Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh presided over the function organized at Gaiety Theatre. Addressing on the occasion, he stressed the need to preserve our cultural heritage, as it is our identity. He said with the passage of time we have to maintain our culture, traditions and language only then we can achieve development in true sense.
“The civilization which fail to preserve its heritage, its language, its culture, ceases to exist with the passage of time”, he added.
He said that such events are being organized at Shimla of each district of the state in a phased manner displaying the history, traditions, customs and culture of those districts. He appreciated the department of Language and Culture for organizing this event.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the artistes of Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti districts.
The Chief Minister also visited the exhibition set up by the government departments, NGOs and Self-help groups at the Ridge.
Principal Secretary, Language, Art and Culture Anuradha Thakur, Deputy Commissioner, Kullu Yunis Khan were also present on the occasion.
