Both the parties decided on forming the alliance during a meeting between the PML-N and PPP leaders after the July 25 elections.PML-N’s Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that both the parties came to a particular conclusion that they should completely reject the election results and should jointly form an opposition to give a tough time to Imran Khan-led PTI government while staying inside parliament.
The two parties have decided to meet again on Monday to discuss on few other matters.In the July 25 elections, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) bagged 116 seats. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) got 64 seats.
Former president Asif Ali Zardari’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) bagged 43 seats.
The National Assembly has a total of 342 members, including 60 seats reserved for women and 10 for non-Muslims. The halfway mark is 172 seats.
